What you need:

  • fabric 2 main pieces of 15cm's and 1 large rectangle piecer of 90 cm's, preferably cotton or satin, I use this one

  • wadding, a bit smaller then the pattern

  • 35 / 40 cm elastic, I use this one

  • Free pattern below

  • basic sewing supplies

  • Sewing machine

1. Begin by cutting out the sleeping mask pattern from your chosen fabric.

It is recommended to use cotton or satin for a comfortable feel. Cut two pieces for the mask body and one rectangular piece measuring 90 cm by 4 cm. Also, cut a piece of elastic measuring around 35 to 40 cm, ensuring it comfortably fits around your head. Lastly, cut a piece of wadding slightly

smaller than the actual pattern.

2. Take the rectangular piece of fabric and fold it in half with the right sides

together. Sew along the longer side using a straight stitch, leaving the top and bottom open. Use a safety pin to turn it inside out and insert the elastic into the tube.

Secure both ends of the elastic with safety pins and set it aside for later.

3. Place the two main fabric pieces together with the right sides

facing each other. Sandwich the scrunchie-like elastic piece in the middle, ensuring both ends of the elastic are on the outside.

Pro tip: Measure the middle parts before pinning to avoid a crooked placement.

Sew around the sides using a straight stitch, leaving a 5 cm gap on the top.

4. Carefully turn the sleeping mask inside out. Insert the wadding inside the mask,

ensuring it fits snugly. Tuck the open edges of the gap inside the mask and sew around the edges using a straight stitch to secure everything in place.

5. Congratulations! You have successfully sewn your own sleeping mask.

Enjoy a restful beauty sleep with your personalized creation.
