A bodysuit with short sleeves! we are gonna add long sleeves, short sleeves, and no sleeves(tanktop) with lace, This one will be short sleeves one

Sewing a bodysuit with short sleeves is a rewarding project that allows you to create a versatile and stylish garment. By following a pattern and selecting the right fabric, you can customize the fit and design to suit your preferences. Short sleeves add a touch of comfort and ease, making the bodysuit suitable for various occasions. Whether you're a beginner or experienced in sewing, this project provides a great opportunity to showcase your skills and create a stylish clothing item.

When making a bodysuit, it's important to pay attention to the fit and stretch of the fabric to ensure a comfortable and form-fitting result. Additionally, using a stretch or ballpoint needle and employing techniques like using clear elastic in the leg and neckline openings can help maintain stretch and prevent the fabric from stretching out over time.

What did i need for this pattern?

  • 50 x 200cm amount of 4 way stretch fabric, I used an thrifted piece of fabric

  • This pattern from Etsy

  • Small metal snaps, i use these

  • Basic sewing supplies like an sewing machine, needle, thread, scissors, etc

1. Begin by cutting out the pattern pieces for the bodysuit using the provided measurements.

2. Trace the pattern onto your chosen fabric and cut out the fabric pieces.

3. Place two corresponding pieces together with the right sides facing each other and pin the waist sides and shoulders.

4. Sew along the pinned edges, using a straight stitch.

5. Turn the bodysuit inside out, so the right side is facing outwards.

6. Fold the raw edges of the neckline, leg holes, and armholes to the inside by about 2 cm and pin them in place.

7. Using a sewing machine or hand stitching, sew a neat and straight stitch along the pinned edges to create a clean finish.

8. Attach metal snaps to the end pieces of the bodysuit by hand sewing them securely, or sew the 2 end together.

9. sew the arm pieces together on the ending sides, that you will get an tube effect, then pin the rough edges to the inside and with a straight stitch go all around to give the sleeve an clean edge

10. now sew the sleeve around the body suit tanktop part on the inside of the arm hole/

11. Give the bodysuit a final press, and it is now ready to be worn.

By following these steps, you can successfully create a bodysuit that is both functional and stylish.

How easy was this pattern?

★★★☆☆

In conclusion, this sewing project taught us how to create a bodysuit by cutting out pattern pieces, sewing them together with the right sides facing, finishing the edges, adding snaps, and incorporating elements like sleeves! This process allows for a customized and stylish garment with a professional finish.
